Xmas Eve recording at the BBC

The Gwalia were recently at the BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Square, to provide background vocals for a BBC Radio 4 programme called ‘Loose Ends’, hosted by the well known TV presenter Clive Anderson, during which, our own Radio star and President Cerys Matthews will be reading an excerpt from 'the famous ‘A Child’s Christmas in Wales’, written by Dylan Thomas’.

Various members of the choir were invited by Cerys to provide some atmospheric backing, while Cerys simultaneously narrated a wonderfully animated selection of the story.

It was a very enjoyable time, and many thanks to Clive Anderson and the studio personnel for engaging with us and answering our many questions, before giving us a quick tour of the building on our way out.

The day finished with an impromptu rendition of ‘Rachie’ outside the main entrance lobby, before having a beer or two.

Many thanks also to Cerys for the invitation to take part in such an interesting event.
