Sad start to the New Year

In a previous event, we wrote about how we attended the prestigious memorial of Cecil Griffiths, the Welsh Olympic Gold Medalist, and how his grand-daughter Vanessa Hanna was so instrumental in it's organisation and coordination.

Unfortunately after a brave fight against cancer, Vanessa has recently passed away, and the Gwalia were asked to sing at her funeral which took place at 'St Mary the Virgin' church, Studham, Bedfordshire. It was a deeply sad occasion as we had got to know the wonderfully brave Vanessa and her extended family very closely.
